Second winner of "Verständliche Wissenschaft"

13.12.2016
Our group member Patrick Harms took part in the competition "Verständliche Wissenschaft" organized by the Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht, Centre for Materials and Costal Research. During this event, 8 researchers who finished their PhD in 2014 or 2015 presented their thesis topics in a way that is understandable for the broader public. Patrick became second best in the competition and we congratulate him for that. Further infos are available here.

Paper accepted at ICST 2017

29.11.2016
We are happy to announce that our paper Are there any Unit Tests? An Empirical Study on Unit Testing in Open Source Python Projects  was accepted at the 10th International Conference on Software Testing, Verification and Validation (ICST 2017). The paper presents an empirical study on open source python projects to determine to what extent developers use unit tests in their development, and in what ways. The conclusions from the study are that while developers think they are developing a lot of unit tests, they are not actually doing so, and in fact, most projects have very few unit tests. Furthermore it shows, that mocking does not have much of an influence on the number of unit tests.
