Mentoring of a school intern

Currently, we have a school intern in our group. Her name is Christina Eilers. She will stay in our group for two weeks. She is supervised by Verena Honsel. The internship takes place in the context of a normal school education. The topics will be in the field of data analytics and social networks.

Our paper "Sources of Information and Behavioral Patterns in Health Online Forums" was accepted for publication in the Journal of Medical Internet Research. The paper was written as a joint work between our group, the Department of Medical Statistics and the Institute of General Practice at our University. More details on the paper can be found here.

Paper accepted for MR.BDI 2013

Our paper "Using MapReduce for High Energy Physics Data Analysis" is accepted for the International Symposium on MapReduce and Big Data Infrastructure (MR.BDI 2013) taking place from the 03.12-05.12 in Sydney, Australia. The paper presents the outcome of a joint work between researchers from our group and our former colleague Prof. Dr. Helmut Neukirchen from the University of Iceland. PROMISE 2013 Best Paper Award

We are happy to announce that Steffen Herbold was awarded the best paper award of the 9th International Conference on Predictive Models in Software Engineering (PROMISE 2013) for his paper "Training data selection for cross-project defect prediction".
