Details for Applying for a PhD Supervision

A PhD in Computer Science at the Universtity of Goettingen is done in the context of a PhD programme called PCS (PhD Programme in Computer Science). Before applying for a PhD supervision, you should check if you match the prerequisites of doing your PhD in this programme. Only if this is given, you should consider an application for a PhD supervision.

For applying for a PhD supervision by Prof. Dr. Jens Grabowski, the head of our group, please provide all material usually belonging to such an application. This includes but is not limited to:

• Introductional letter
• Complete CV
• Certificates and Official Transcript/Record of Study (Bachelor and Master)
• PhD Research Proposal
• intended research area including your prospective contributions to the group
• a proposal for a PhD topic (including an initial schedule)
• Financial Statement
• approval of financial support in case of individual scholarship
• description of other means of financial support
• Proof of Proficiency in English
