Developer-Centric Software Assessment
Abstract
Software assessment is the process of posing specific questions about the software system under study and carrying out specialized analyses to answer these questions. Software assessment is central to software quality assurance and maintenance. In this talk, we will introduce the notion of developer-centric software assessment and build a case for it. We will also present a software mining infrastructure to support developer-centric assessment tasks and discuss applications of developer-centric software assessment, including change classification, defect prediction, behavior clustering, risk assessment, and simulation of software evolution.
